Personal Wedding Vows That Speak To The Heart
Exchanging Personal Wedding Vows
The option to exchange personal wedding vows is always presented to the bride and groom. Often one wants to speak and the other is not comfortable speaking in public.
There is no pressure to exchange personal wedding vows. Each wedding ceremony will include your wedding vows. If you would like to exchange personal wedding vows, write them out before hand and read them out loud to practice your delivery.
Sometimes people get so nervous about speaking in public they miss the beginning of the ceremony, as their mind is anxious about sharing their words in public. Then once they have shared their personal words the relief of being off the hot seat can cause them to miss the rest of their wedding ceremony.
Give it a considerable amount of thought. You can both share or just one of you can speak. Or you can just have the ceremony with the vows included. Make your decision while thinking about how stress free your wedding ceremony can be. Your wedding ceremony is an altered state whether you are at an alter or outside in the garden.
Not sharing personal vows does not mean you love each other any less, it’s all a matter of what works for the two of you individually. If you do decide to write personal vows think about the vision you have for your marriage. Vows are projecting into the future and are timeless in nature. Personal vows are unique in every way so move with your heart and speak with love. That will get you where you want to go.
An Example
I vow to help you love life, to always hold you with tenderness and to have the patience that love demands. To speak when words are needed and to share the silence when they’re not. To agree to disagree from time to time. To live with the warmth of your heart and always call it home.
