What To Do When Emotions Run High
At The Altar
A wedding day can be a highly emotional life transition, stirring emotions into action. Humans are emotional beings after all.
Embodying emotional awareness may shift our understanding of what it means to be truly caring. As we adapt to this awareness fully, this bold idea could change every relationship in our life. As new horizons open to us in an ever expansive way.
When emotions run high or low, they can feel like a powerful wave overwhelming us in the moment. It can feel like pressure to respond right away to relieve the pressure. With all this pressure pushing us forward we have to wonder how is emotional awareness individually attained. The catch is, responding in the moment will lead to unwanted out comes. Making up a story about our chemistry just exasperates the issue. Getting agreement from friends leads us down the wrong path again and again.
What is the solution? What if it was as easy as just waiting? Wait until the morning, wait until the next week, wait until clarity stands with us. Wait until the chemistry has pasted and we are in calm waters.
In a moment the wave will shift on to something else. We become clear and are able to express ourself in a way that others can hear. The key to emotional awareness is to be aware of the chemistry and observe it rather than act on it. In this way our emotions can fill us with delight rather than frustration. Relationship last longer as they become richer and deeper.
After all it’s so much better to be crying tears of joy rather than tears of frustration. Wouldn’t you like to believe that heaven is real? That everyone has what they need. That humanity can indeed be humane. When we learn to take responsibility for our own emotions perhaps we will be more humane to each and those we love. A focus that can only enrich our lives.
