One of my favorite parts of a wedding day is seeing a bride step out holding her bouquet for the very first time. It doesn’t have to be elaborate or expensive. In fact, some of the most beautiful bouquets I’ve photographed were lovingly created by the bride herself.

Over the years, however, I’ve also seen a few common mistakes — long-stem flowers still wrapped in paper, oversized bouquets that hide the dress, or delicate blooms that wilt before the ceremony even begins.

Keep the Focus on You

Gather the stems tightly and secure them with floral tape or a sturdy rubber band so nothing shifts during the day. Then wrap the stems with a beautiful ribbon to hide the band and create a finished, professional appearance.
